Ahead of the 2026 International Chinese Language Day, international students from Shenyang Normal University visited the Intangible Cultural Heritage Experience Hall at the New Era Civilization Practice Center in Yuhong District, Shenyang, Liaoning Province, to experience the charm of traditional Chinese culture and improve their Chinese proficiency through hands-on practice.

On April 11, Shenyang Normal University signed an agreement with Yuhong District, Shenyang to establish a joint social practice base for Chinese and foreign youth. Students from Italy, Ghana, Vietnam, Lebanon, Jordan, Russia and other countries took part in immersive workshops, experiencing local intangible cultural heritage crafts such as Liao Sancai pottery firing, gourd pyrography, folk paper-cutting and Li’s sugar figurine making.

The activity takes Chinese as a bridge to connect the world, helping intangible cultural heritage take root in the hearts of global youth and sharing vivid and warm stories of China and Liaoning.
