Oey Toen Ping, President of the Rotterdam Branch of the Netherlands China Association, visited Liaoning Province recently. During his stay here, he visited Liaoning Vocational Technical College of Modern Service, Shenyang Foreign Affairs Service School and Shenyang Museum, gaining first-hand insights into Liaoning’s vocational education, talent training and Liaoning’s rich historical and cultural heritage. The visit aimed to enhance cooperation between China’s Liaoning and the Netherlands in vocational and technical education as well as skilled talent training.

Having been to Liaoning for six times, Ping was impressed by Liaoning’s remarkable changes during these years. He summed up the province’s progress in three phrases: well-organized, willing to learn new things, and looking forward.

Public facilities such as museums and theaters have been continually improving, greenery lines the streets, and fresh fruit and vegetables are available in the shops. “These tangible improvements have greatly enhanced residents’ quality of life,” he said.

Ping praised Liaoning’s vocational education model, which caters to both students and working professionals. “Courses integrate technical expertise with management and general knowledge, creating a positive atmosphere where everyone strives for a better future.” He noted that Liaoning boasts not only a solid industrial foundation but also a good education system, enabling working professionals to improve their skills and have their own niche in their profession.

Looking ahead, Ping expressed his hope for practical cooperation in education, performing arts, sports and catering. “We aim to share Liaoning’s stories with the Dutch people and introduce Dutch culinary traditions and agricultural features to Liaoning people, achieving mutual benefit through cooperation.”
