Recently, Liaoning Ballet presented two performances of its production The Nutcracker at Beijing’s National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), earning widespread acclaim from local audiences.
The exclusive production was jointly created by Liaoning Ballet and the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre. Choreographed by distinguished Russian artist Eldar Aliev, the classic ballet was adapted to better suit Chinese audiences’ aesthetic tastes. This ballet production is a wonderful showcase of the deepening artistic exchanges and collaboration between Chinese and international ballet communities.
Featuring a heartwarming fairy-tale storyline, lavish stage sets, and elegant classical choreography, the production highlights the enduring charm of global classic ballet. Nearly 100 performers took the stage, bringing together dancers from Liaoning Ballet and Liaoning Youth Ballet. The successful performances not only demonstrated Liaoning Ballet’s artistic excellence and influence, but also showcased its achievements in international cultural exchange and talent echelon construction.
